Emily Sylvester

Emily Sylvester has over 15 years experience as a career and employment counsellor and in designing and delivering top-notch workshops and training. She has accepted invitations to train practitioners across Canada. Her sessions are sought out by practitioners looking for original and practical ways to make their individual and group services more attractive and effective. She always brings many stories, exercises, games and examples that practitioners can use right away for themselves and their clients. She has developed numerous Canadian and culturally appropriate tools for practitioners.

Emily holds an Alberta Award of Excellence in Career Development, is a founding and past executive member of the Career Development Association of Alberta, a past Senator of the University of Alberta, and a lay minister of two rural churches. Her book, A Book of Surprises; Games, Stories, and Magic for Career Practitioners, was published by the Life-Role Development Group in 1999.

Emily is currently developing material for human service providers in understanding and taking care of themselves.

Emily lives on a small farm in Northern Alberta with her husband and two daughters.
